Kathryn Lloyd, MD

Co-Owner of Sub Rosa Therapy
Medical Director – Interventional Psychiatry & Psychedelic Services

Dr. Kathryn Lloyd is a physician and co-owner of Sub Rosa Therapy, where she serves as the clinic’s Medical Director and oversees the administration of FDA-approved Spravato (esketamine) and off-label ketamine-assisted therapy (KAT), ensuring each treatment is grounded in clinical excellence, ethical standards, and compassionate care.

With a deep commitment to the healing potential of psychedelic medicine, Dr. Lloyd is passionate about expanding access to these treatments through a community clinic-based model. Her work is rooted in the Pollination Approach, which emphasizes relational healing, local resource recirculation, and ecologically informed systems of care. At Sub Rosa Therapy, she collaborates with a multidisciplinary team—including a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a clinical psychologist—who conduct psychiatric evaluations, screen clients for Spravato and KAT eligibility, and provide ongoing clinical oversight.

Dr. Lloyd also supervises a team of onsite medical providers, including licensed nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician associates (PAs), who are trained in administering psychedelic and interventional psychiatric treatments. Together, they ensure that each client’s care is integrated, trauma-informed, and medically sound. The medical team works in close coordination with Sub Rosa’s behavioral health clinicians to deliver the most patient-centered and cohesive care possible. All clients receiving Spravato or ketamine-assisted therapy are actively engaged in psychotherapy, and every treatment is rooted in a relational framework—designed to support integration, deepen insight, and translate internal change into meaningful transformation within the broader arc of therapy.

Dr. Lloyd earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver and holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Bryn Mawr College. She was originally board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, and in 2021, she completed certification in Ketamine and Psychedelic Medicine through the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI). Her clinical oversight includes the development and review of medical protocols, monitoring of adverse effects, and integration of best practices in psychedelic medicine. Her vision helps shape Sub Rosa’s mission to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care that is affordable, accountable, and rooted in place.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Lloyd enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the wild landscapes and winding trails of the northwestern United States and Canada. She continues to deepen her study of emerging medical and ecological paradigms, seeking ways to align personal and collective healing with the wisdom of the natural world.
